In the end, consider doing the following instead: Write because you have to. Write stories and tomes because you love the craft. Write because if the essays don’t come out of you, you’ll explode. Perhaps you self-publish. Maybe you get a book deal. Hell, your work might just become a movie and make you rich. Still, the lesson stands: don’t do it to make money or chase some writer fantasy for the reason you write.
